[Idea] An “On this day” API that consumes the Wikipedia content for dates

September 17 – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_17

Wikipedia API URL–  http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?format=json&action=query&titles=September_17&rvprop=content&prop=revisions

Parse  and output something like this:
September 17 – On this day in… 1974 – Bangladesh, Grenada and Guinea-Bissau join the United Nations.

Coming soon.

Disclaimer: I may or may not actually follow through with this.

“Start a side project. Scratch your own itch. Be creative. Share something with the world, or keep it to yourself.”

I just finishing reading/listening to this keynote from 2008 by Chris Wanstrath, one of the founders of Github. It was a great read so I had to share it, read it now and start a side project tomorrow!
